Domestic students

If you are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or otherwise entitled to study in Australia without a student visa, you can enrol at MVC as a domestic student. Our courses combine theory with practice, in training kitchens and classrooms in the Adelaide CBD.

Who studies with us

  • School leavers starting a trade or hospitality career.
  • Career changers and people returning to work who want a nationally recognised qualification.
  • People already working in the industry who want their skills recognised or want to step up to a supervisory or management role.
  • School students taking Certificate I in Hospitality, Certificate II in Hospitality or Certificate II in Cookery, which run across the South Australian school terms at MVC or at an approved school training site.

What you need to enrol

  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI). Every student in nationally recognised training needs one. It is free and you can create it at usi.gov.au.
  • Photo identification.
  • A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, completed with MVC before training starts, so we can confirm the course suits you and plan any support you need.
  • Any course-specific entry requirements, which are listed on each course page.

Recognition of what you already know

You do not have to repeat what you can already do. Qualifications can be achieved through classroom-based learning, recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer for units you have already completed elsewhere. Tell us about your experience and previous study when you apply.

Fees

Fees depend on the course and on your circumstances. Contact our admissions team at admissions@mvc.edu.au for a current fee quote before you enrol. Our Student Fees and Charges Policy and Refund Policy set out how fees are charged and refunded.

Scholarships and support

MVC Access Scholarships are open to current and prospective students who have encountered hardship, disability or another form of disadvantage. See Scholarships for details.
