Qualification description and job roles

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply advanced knowledge and skills in a range of strategic leadership and management roles.

Individuals at this level make high level autonomous decisions and use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions in varied contexts. They have full responsibility and accountability for personal outputs and for the work or function of others.

They use cognitive and creative skills to review, critically analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge, in order to generate ideas and provide solutions to complex problems. They use communication skills to demonstrate their understanding of theoretical concepts and to transfer knowledge and ideas to others. Licensing/Regulatory Information

Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

Have completed a Bachelor degree in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
or
Have five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

Entry requirements and reasonable adjustments

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

MVC has following entry requirements for this program including the student’s agreement and ability to undertake the following:

  • Complete Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment test minimum ACSF working Level 4 at MVC before the start of training.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training and assessment.
  • Participate in class tasks to trainer’s expectations.
  • Comply with the MVC code of conduct requirements, directions on work, and health and safety matters, and all MVC Policies.
  • Academic and experience entry requirements as identified in specific cohorts below.

An Entry Requirement Check Form will be completed by the student(s) and submitted to MVC along with the resume. MVC Admissions Officer shall then complete the reference check.

International Students will need to meet the Department of Home Affairs student visa requirements. Refer to www.homeaffairs.gov.au The following local entry requirements apply to ensure applicants are able to fully engage in the course and have the required learning capacity to meeting the course requirements. Along with required experience Learners must:

– be aged 18 years or over
– be an existing worker preferably in a managerial/leadership role
– have the support of employer
– able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
